Airport Name: Huatulco International Airport, code HUX.
Location: 19 km north of Santa Cruz Huatulco
Facilities: This is one of Mexico's most unique airport terminals, combining modern comforts and tropical accents. (It was privatized in 1999 and is currently undergoing numerous improvements.) The airport is made up of four open-air buildings covered with thatched palapas.

From the airport in either city, private taxis (usually Suburbans) or collectivo van transfers are available to Huatulco. Private cabs run around $20 US while the colectivos go for around $6 US per person. Cabs from the PXM airport to town cost between $2-3 US.

Around the area, there are taxis available throughout Huatulco's three major settlements. Rates between Tangolunda and Santa Cruz or La Crucecita run 15-20 pesos. There is also inexpensive bus service connecting Tangolunda, Chahue and Santa Cruz bays. Fare is about 5 pesos ($.50 US) per ride. Buses operate daily from 7am-7pm.

International air service to Huatulco is provided by several U.S. and Canadian tour and charter operators. Scheduled air service from the U.S. is available through Mexicana and Aeromexico airlines.

Scheduled domestic air service to Huatulco and Puerto Escondido is currently available from two Mexican cities: Mexico City (Aeromexico and Mexicana Airlines) and Oaxaca ( Aerocaribe/MX).
